My work this week (so far)

I researched the moon to write my moon poster. It has lots of mind-boggling facts

[embeddoc url=”https://birdwellyear4.edublogs.org/files/2020/06/Moon-facts.docx” download=”all” viewer=”google” ]

I made a space suit for one of my teddies.  For the suit I used paper and for his helmet I used an old goldfish bowl. It was fun!

I did the spacesuit questions and also a picture that is annotated to go with it down below.

I did the ‘From the ground and from the sky’ worksheet.  It is amazing how different the earth looks from space!

I did some BBC bite-size Biomes work and a tropical Rainforest worksheet. Some biomes include: Desert, Rainforest, Tundra and grasslands.

Finally, I did some more BBC bite-size work about renewable energy including the advantages and disadvantages of this type of energy.

Space project and a tiny bit of stone age

While I have been at home, I’ve been very busy. So busy that I forgot to post some stone age stuff as well as space stuff.

During the stone age topic I forgot to post the fire that I made – it was big and I had fun!

My space project

When the space topic went on the blog, we had just started a space project at home – so I was ready already! We found a great video that introduces the solar system – my sister loved looking at the fiery sun. Here it is:

My dad taught me a rhyme for the order of the planets.

My very easy method just speeds up naming planets.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune (and Pluto which is a dwarf planet).

For the planet I would like to visit is…

My alien for Venus is this one down below

Me and my family are hoping to build something exciting which will be good – I can’t wait!

I hope you all are staying safe and I miss you all. I can’t wait to see you again! 😊👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏼👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻👭👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏼

Space!!!!

My Space work

I am still doing my model of my chosen planet and will provide a fact file for that this week.

I am enjoying this topic.

I am looking forward to writing about Pandora.

Finn

My Saturn model!!!!!

I chose Saturn for my planet and decided to make a model!
First, I got a balloon and stuck newspaper on it (paper-mache)
Then, I stuck glue on the top of the newspaper and waited for it to dry
After, I put paper on it and put glue on that and waited for that to dry
And finally, I made the ring and painted the planet pale yellow then I painted the ring orange and put the ring on the planet and put string on it to tie it to the light!

I have done a lot of work this week!

I did some planets work, thought of a way to remember them and did some facts about them

Also I did a picture of a space shuttle taking off:

I also answered the spacex questions:

I did the Pandora creative writing:

I hope you like my work 🙂

My weapons

Me and my Dad went for a walk to get the branches and stones. My Dad showed me how to fasten them together with string. I really liked making them. We then used then to break up some things to try them out. It was fun.

Check out these stone age projects

You have to check out this video of these amazing Stone Age projects that I received last night!

They are amazing and what a great way to share them by hosting a video!  What a superstar!  Well done, I am really proud of you.

Finn week of learning and fun

We caught about 200 but decided to pour them back as we would struggle to keep that many at home. We chose 10 each to bring home.

next week we are going to put together a circuit

We decided to create a wish jar. SO everything we have wanted to do but been unable to due to the lockdown we write on a piece of paper and fold it up. Some are secrets but others are simple things we have missed. I would like to visit the seaside and go to see my baby cousins. At the end of lock down we can open them and see how many we can achieve.

My butterfly lifecycle project🦋🐛

My butterflies have taken to the skies!
We took notes and pictures of everything that happened during their lifecycle. We even got a close look at one flapping his/her wings!
I also learned how to make a video – here it is:

Castles and knights
I’ve been busy working on the castle project I’ve done some work and ill would like to show you. My rules were a little silly to stop my sister from breaking the castle.

I’ve also been busy on other pieces of work:

I really miss you all at Birdwell.

Caveman village

Today we had a caveman craft day. We went into the wooded area opposite my house to collect sticks, leaves and stones.  I used sticks and leaves to build my caveman’s home. I also used some artificial grass we had to to make it look a bit more effective. I made a fire out of tissue paper, stones and sticks. I also did some cave drawings on some pieces of slate. I made him a bed out of sticks and wool, animal fur 🙂

I then made my caveman man out of salt dough. I had a great day and loved making all these. I am going to make some caveman jewellery next time.

Charlie

Noah the caveman

I researched the stone age on the laptop and wrote about it. I then made a cave out in the garden. I collected sticks on my walk for my fire and made a spear to hunt animals out of a garden cane and a rock. I also used my mum’s coat as my clothes.
